I am the first person to advocate the freedom of information, especially information provided through the means of public tax dollars. I'm also a huge advocate of using the Internet to disseminate such information. So, please do not mistake our efforts as yet another group of people trying to make a buck on freely available weather information. The service we are providing to our soaring community is not selling weather back to people who don't realize it's publicly free, which, unfortunately, is a rotten practice engaged by many groups. Our goal is to provide an additional level of added value to that information for the specific use of soaring aviation. As noted in the About Us section of this site, the motivation for such a service is to create a website that is stable and consistent in providing soaring information.

With that said, the costs of achieving this are not entirely trivial. It takes money for dedicated hosting fees, software licensing, and server upgrades and maintenance. We have been sensitive to this issue and will pledge to keep any fees as minimal as possible.
