Sun Incidence Angle Percentage

This is not a forecast layer

Select a date and hour to review the sun angle relative to terrain. This layer is a percentage of the maximum incoming solar radiation for the incident angle. Crosshatch areas are where incoming solar radiation is two-thirds (66%) or greater of maximum potential radiation intersecting with the terrain, a good indication of adequate surface heating for thermals when conditionally unstable lapse rates exist. Assumes clear skies.
